It is 45 km from the coast at Granite Harbour. Composed of weathered dolerit while an outcrop of Beacon sandstone occurs on the eastern portion of the plateau and debris of this material occurs on the western slopes. Named in the early 1960's by K A J Wise of the USARP, after his wife.
