It lies in a north-south direction and is eastward of Cape Dunlop, from which it is separated by a narrow channel 1/4 mile wide. The highest point is about 20m high. First charted by the BAE, 1907-09, which named it for H J L Dunlop, chief engineer of the expedition ship Nimrod. Not Terrace Island.
