It is the largest stream at Cape Bird, contains pleasant drinking water (unlike Harrison Stream) and might flow for several months each year (like the stream at the Marble Point airfield). Explored by the NZGSAE, 1958-59,and named byteh NZ Antarctic Place Names Committee for E B Fitzgerald, Deputy-leader of the expedition.
