A small proportion of the snow from the east face of Mt Lister enters the head of this glacier by a steep ice-fall, but the majority of it flows east in a small ill-defined sheet, between the Lister and Hooker Glaciers. It derives its name from Mt Lister, and was survyed by the Blue Glacier Party of the NZTAE, 1956-58, in September 1957.
