The bluff, which protrudes about 450m above the ice, is essentially flat in the central portion, but tapers eastward ending in a low rounded spur. Charted and named by the BAE, 1910-13. When viewed from the east, the northern face of the bluff suggests the blunt head of the sperm whale.
