The Peak is due east of Wedge Face from whence it derives its name, and although it is not quite the highest peak on this massif it commands a clear panorama of the Beardmore and Hood Glaciers to the north. Named by the NZ Alpine Club Antarctic Expedition, 1959-60, on 2 January 1960.
