: US Ambassador to New Zealand, William P McCormick, Dr Arden Bement, Director of the National Science Foundation, Assistant Secretary of State Claudia McMurray, Sir Edmund Hillary, Board Chair Paul Hargreaves, Prime Minister of New Zealand, Helen Clark, CEO Antarctica New Zealand, Lou Sanson

The ice podium was especially created by the Scott Base staff for the 50th anniversary celebrations. It has an ice axe and rope embedded in it.
