The theme of the investigation was that of the relationship between the Skua (Cathatacta maccormicki) and the Adelie penguin (Pygocelis adelieae). This involved on the one hand| a study og penguin egg and chick motality| with particular reference to that attributable to Skua predation| and on the other hand a study of territorial| feeding and breeding behaviour of skuas about the rookery with emphasis on discovering differences between pairs defending territories containing nesting penguins and pairs without penguins.
