Evidence Based Risk Assessment of Dry Valley Ecosystems.
We will be working in the McMurdo Dry Valleys to improve our knowledge and understanding of these ecosystems. Sound management of this ecosystem requires an understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological processes that shape it, and the DryVER project (Dry Valley Ecosystem Resilience) aims to characterise these processes and predict their response to future climate scenarios. The outcomes will enable New Zealand to maintain its leadership in sustainable and informed management of Antarctica.
