Working at Cape Evans 2: Ian Whitely and Andrew McMinn collect samples of sea ice algae from the sea ice at Cape Evans
Sampling 1:
Andrew McMinn measuring light levels under sea ice at the "turning circle" out from McMurdo station. This is the area that was broken up by an icebreaker in 2007 and chunks of old ice are embedded in new annual sea ice. In the background are the Royal Society Mountains. Note the mirage at the ice horizon.
